27 Jul: i'm wasn't sure if this was a predator or predatee, nor did i remember seeing one before. i thought it was a ladybug (it's about that size) tangled in the web until i looked closer. lack of light and a breeze allowed just a couple of shots that were in focus or not blurred. as far as i knew, it was a new species, so i merrily christened it the Pointy Extruded Yellow Crab Spider. scientifikul enough, i thought...

addendum (dang!): it's actually a Spinybacked Orbweaver, so don't worry about sending those congratulatory letters for discovering a new critter.
